VP of Accounting

Clinical Resources is currently seeking a well qualified VP of Accounting for a LTC company for their corporate headquarters located in Atlanta, GA.  


POSITION SUMMARY:


The Vice President of Accounting directs and manages company fiscal functions- accounts payable, payroll, accounting processes in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The position will supervise accounting staff in carrying out all daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial/accounting activities. The VP of Accounting ensures all financial transactions are properly recorded in the Great Plains software including the general ledger, payroll and payable's. Working with the Chief Accounting Office, this position is challenged to constantly strive to make the business process more effective and efficient while strengthening the underlying internal control system. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyzes company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets, issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

Assists senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.

Manages the daily accounting activities of the financial services operations including accounts payable, accounts payable and payroll.

Ensures timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.

Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives.

Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives.

Builds, develops and manages finance team.

Audits the work of the accounting department.

Ensures compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.

Provide analysis and review of the assumptions used in the preparation of pro-formas for future acquisitions.

Works with regional management to identify and implement process and control improvements.

Works with confidential data.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must be able to collect, analyze, and manage data.

Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills, good judgment, and critical thinking skills.

Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:


The VP of Accounting manages all employees of the accounting department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.


PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Minimum 5 years accounting experience in long term care.

Must have excellent working knowledge of Great Plains accounting software.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external constituents.

Cooperative attitude with team-oriented disposition with the ability to effectively support and encourage team members.

Ability to focus on execution and results; is metrics and data drives and promotes transparent responsibility and accountability.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Work, Excel and PowerPoint.

Leadership and team management experience in organizing, planning and executing projects.

Capability of working in a team environment as a role model, supporting management and staff, following policies, providing feedback, assisting in special projects and taking on additional responsibility.

CPA preferred.


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and scanners.

This is a largely sedentary role, however, some filing is required which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as

necessary.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5

p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
